COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Crisis Support Services of Nevada was established as an outreach program of the University of Nevada, Reno in 1966 in response to the high rate of suicide in Nevada. Over the years, the Center has continued to grow and evolve in response to community needs. We now address other crises such as sexual assault, domestic violence, substance abuse, and child/elder abuse or neglect to mention just as few. CSSNV maintains online resources for 15 Northern Nevada counties through the Community’s online directory, which links individuals with necessary services throughout our communities. Crisis Support Services of Nevada is a 24/7/365 operation.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to administrative leadership in a 24/7/365 organization.  Ideal candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate.  The Human Resource Administrative Assistant must be comfortable with working in a fast paced environment, computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication while maintaining enthusiasm and a positive upbeat attitude.

CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time – Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION: $15-$17 per hour

HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Friday, flexible hours


HR Assistance

  • Provides day-to-day support in all aspects of human resources functions
  • Assists in the recruitment process for vacant positions to include ad placement, interview scheduling, applicant correspondence, and reference checks via email/telephone
  • Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Responds to initial inquiries concerning employment opportunities
  • Establishes new employee folders
  • Maintains personnel records and other departmental files
  • Collaborates with the manager in recruiting diverse candidates from the applicant pool, and answering any questions regarding employment at CSSNV
  • Prepares, proofreads, formats, and processes human resources documents, such as letters, memos, training calendars and materials, agendas, reports, statistical charts, labels, forms and certifications, rough drafts, recordings, or verbal instructions


  • Provides administrative support
  • Develops and help with the implementation of administrative procedures for improvement and maintenance of office management functions
  • Maintains current staff, volunteer, intern contact information
  • Maintains communications, internet and e-mail transmission/reception, fax sending/receiving, and file maintenance
  • Handles incoming/outgoing mail shipments
  • Organizes and schedules meetings and appointments
  • Books travel arrangements
  • Register staff for regular training
  • Receives, sort, and distributes the mail
  • Completes bank deposit, schedules courier service

Office Assistance

  • Provides office assistance
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories and office supplies
  • Utilizes outside vendors when necessary and maintains relationships with vendors
  • Acts as liaison with the landlord on building management and maintenance issues


  • Motivated self-starter, team player as well as ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical, time management, organizational and record-keeping abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must maintain and adhere to Crisis Support Services of Nevada’s ethics and confidentiality standards
  • Basic office skills and familiarity with standard office administrative practices and procedures
  • Computer literate; must be strong in QuickBooks, Excel, MS Office Suite
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment required.
