Sexual Assault Support Services Victim Advocate

We currently have a vacancy for a Victim Advocate in our Sexual Assault Support Services departmentAlthough we have published this job opening to external channels, we strongly encourage any current employee, volunteer, intern, donor, and/or friend who is interested in the role to apply.

Our new Victim Advocate will work on the SASS Team and be responsible for  providing advocacy for survivors of Interpersonal Violence (IPV) i.e.: sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and dating violence at the individual and system level, responding to cases of Interpersonal Violence during and/or after business hours for shifts not covered by volunteers on a rotational basis with other SASS program staff, providing follow-up services for primary and secondary survivors of IPV as needed, effectively manage solid relationships with other agency partners, as well as develop and maintain effective relationships to increase awareness of the Victim Advocacy program with university staff, faculty and students in each college, all while building campus-wide awareness of Victim Advocacy program.

To be considered for this role, successful completion of 84 hours of the SASS training program is required within 6-months of hire date, must be able to effectively develop and deliver appropriate presentations to large audiences of all age groups, one-year minimum experience providing crisis intervention victim advocacy, public speaking, creating presentations, working with volunteers, and office assistance required , degree in social services, human development and family studies, education or community health services or related field preferred,  Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly desired
