Sponsorship Opportunities
Make a BIG Difference — Become a Sponsor!
Crisis Support Services of Nevada (CSSNV) began this awareness event in 2017, and we raised just over $20,000. Each year, our goal is to increase attendance and awareness of our services to our community, so that we can continue to be a beacon of HOPE to everyone who might need it. This year, our financial goal for this event is $50,000, but our greater goal is to spread the message of HOPE to anyone who might need it.
Our operating budget is largely comprised of state and government grants which have very specific guidelines that do not cover all necessary expenses. The donations from this event would be unrestricted and allow us to expand much needed outreach services to our community. Additionally, having unrestricted funds would allow us to continue to train and develop our staff and our instrumental team of volunteers. The support and development of these two groups are vital to the continued success of this organization and ensuring we can provide the highest level of service to all those who reach out for a lifeline in their darkest moments. Your support ensures that a bend in the road is not the end of the road.
Please consider financially supporting CSSNV to pave the road to HOPE, by becoming a sponsor. The last few years, we’ve had the likes of Greater Nevada Credit Union, Solutions at Work, Beacon Health Options, Renown, Sierra Air, Meadows Bank, Sierra Health and Wellness Centers, NV Energy, and the Nugget to name just a few. Our “Circle of Compassion” sponsorships begin at $5,000. If you have a different amount in mind we would certainly be honored by that as well, $500, $1,000, $2500, whatever it is, your gift will make a difference.
We would also like to invite you and your staff to attend the event. This year the event will be at the National Automobile Museum on Thursday, September 28th, from 8 – 9 am.

7th Annual Compassion Through the Crisis - Tuesday, November 28, 2023
Join us on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 8:00am – 9:00am, to celebrate the many achievements CSSNV has accomplished this past year and to learn more about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and the future of mental health in Nevada. Your attendance will help make this year’s event even more successful than in previous years. Your generosity will support our vision of being known throughout Nevada as the beacon of hope in people’s darkest moments and make significant strides to break societal stigmas about shame, victimization, and mental health issues through advocacy, awareness-building, and education. Make a Difference
For more than 50 years, Crisis Support Services of Nevada (CSSNV) has offered free, confidential support to those in crisis. CSSNV staff and volunteers work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to support people in the darkest moments of their lives. We know everyone needs a reminder that there can be a better tomorrow.
Your donations allow us to continue serving tens of thousands of people each year through both our Sexual Assault Support Services and Crisis Call Center programs. Every donation allows us to help others in life changing crisis situations, provide support for victims of crime and provide referrals to important services that help individuals in need.
Our operating budget is approximately $1 million, 86 percent of which goes towards providing services. Aside from individual donations, we are funded by government, corporate and foundation grants and fee-for-service contracts.
Crisis Support Services of Nevada is an IRS approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization registered in Nevada. Donations/contributions may be tax deductible pursuant to the provisions of section 170.c of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, 26 U.S.C. 170.c.

FAQs About Volunteering at Crisis Support Services of Nevada
No experience is necessary. All the training you need will be provided for free.
Crisis Contact Center and Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) volunteers receive intensive training over a seven-week period. Guest speakers discuss a broad range of topics that our volunteers will encounter. The training emphasizes good listening and communication skills. Role Plays are an important part of the training process and help volunteers practice their newly-acquired skills. Once training is complete, volunteers have all of the skills necessary to answer the crisis lines or respond to a survivor of sexual assault.
After you have completed the training sequence, Crisis Call Center volunteers are asked to volunteer one four-hour shift per week between the hours of 8 a.m. and midnight. (Overnight shifts are covered by staff members.) Volunteers are able to arrange these shifts around their own busy schedules and can work regular shifts or fill in when their time permits.
Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) volunteers are scheduled for a minimum of two 12-hour on-call shifts per month. They are dispatched to a central location in Reno on an as-needed basis, any time of the day or night, to provide critical face-to-face support to survivors.
All volunteers are asked to commit to one year of active service, and many volunteers choose to stay on with us well beyond their initial commitment. Volunteers are also required to attend at least three in-service training classes per year. These are offered for free on a monthly basis at the center or through a variety of online and community opportunities.
Volunteers who have been with Crisis Support Services of Nevada for a while often find they want to expand their contribution. A volunteer can be active on both the Crisis Call Center and Sexual Assault Support Services programs after they have completed their initial one-year commitment and seasoned volunteers often choose to assist with training new volunteers.
Many volunteers come to Crisis Support Services of Nevada because they want to help others. Volunteers often find that the training they receive impacts their lives in ways they do not anticipate.
Learning improved communication skills and gaining knowledge about difficult topics – and gaining confidence in talking about those topics – helps people’s personal and professional relationships in unexpected ways. Many college students (or people returning to school) choose to volunteer to gain human services skills that are relevant to many different professions. We also offer bachelor and masters level internships. Contact info@crisiscallcenter.org to learn more.
The training programs are intensive and rich with personal growth opportunities. Self discovery and emotional processing are all part of becoming a well-rounded volunteer. This growth continues through the processing of personal issues that arise as a result of calls volunteers receive or cases of sexual assault that they respond to. Being a part of Crisis Support Services of Nevada is an experience that will change your life.
There are many ways you can assist our efforts. We often need help with office tasks, organizing or hosting events, creating mailings, tabling at community outreach events, technology, public relations, marketing, fundraising and soliciting donations. We are always interested in speaking with people who want to support the continued growth of Crisis Support Services of Nevada. Email volunteer@crisiscallcenter.org and tell us about your interest areas.
If you would like to know more about becoming a volunteer, please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form at the top of the page. You can also call 1-775-784-8085 or email volunteer@crisiscallcenter.org. We look forward to welcoming you to our amazing team of volunteers.
